Wizard Walk for Action Cancer
If you are one of the millions of fans who have fallen under the magic charm of Potter mania and want to cast a spell over your friends and family come along to Botanic Gardens on Sunday 24th July as Action Cancer and Ryan’s bar team up to organise the first ever Wizard Walk.
The two mile walk will begin in Botanic Gardens at 2pm and finish at Ryan’s on the Lisburn Road which has transformed itself into the Leaky Cauldron to mark the final chapter of the movie.
Looking forward to a fun day out for the whole family Gerrie Anderson, Manager of Ryan’s, said “To celebrate Harry’s final adventure we have recreated the famous setting of the fictional pub from the nation’s favourite book and film series. The walk will finish at the Leaky Cauldron and anyone taking part in the walk will be treated to magic tricks and a range of refreshments.
“The walk will be lead by everyone’s favourite giant Hagrid and we would encourage anyone taking part to come along dressed up as their favourite wizard or Harry Potter character.”
Kerry Anderson, Corporate Fundraising Officer with Action Cancer said “This really is a walk with a difference and we are encouraging families with Harry Potter fans to sign up today. We hope there will be an array of costumes and with our giant Hagrid leading the walk there will be a real sense of occasion and fun. Importantly, all of the funds raised will benefit Action Cancer, Northern Ireland’s leading local cancer charity, to help us maintain our life-saving prevention, detection and support services.”
