Ballycastle business gears up for South America
Ballycastle-based apparel firm Gaelic Gear is seeking to grow sales of its leisure and sports garments by taking part in a trade mission to Brazil and Argentina.
The trade mission has been organised by Trade International, the Industrial Development Board’s export and trade division.
Gaelic Gear provides embroidery and display packaging services, and was among a seven-strong delegation of Northern Ireland businesses which has recently returned to the province after conducting an initial foray into markets in South America.
Commenting on the company’s participation in the mission, Danny Stewart, Gaelic Gear Managing Director said: “The Trade International mission provided an ideal opportunity for us to explore opportunities in Brazil and Argentina. We were also influenced by the business which resulted from our participation with Trade International in last year’s mission to Boston.”
The group also included established exporters to South America such as Brett Martin, Newtownabbey, Halib International, Belfast and Valpar Industrial, Bangor. The remaining mission members, Andor Technology, Mivan, and Moy Park, were also seeking to break into these developing markets. (MB)
