EasyLink European Headquarters Set For Clonakilty
A global provider of comprehensive messaging services and e-commerce solutions, is to establish its European Shared Service Centre in Clonakilty, Co. Cork with the creation of 20 new professional positions.
The announcement by Easylink is supported by the Irish Government with the aid of IDA Ireland.
In 2010, EasyLink acquired the messaging services from Premiere Global Services, Inc. and as a result of this transaction the company now has over 30,000 customers on five continents.
The Clonakilty operation will include its finance and accounting team along with the existing team of 25 customer support staff who formerly worked for Premiere.
Welcoming the announcement Sean Sherlock TD, Minister for Research and Innovation, said: “Today’s announcement by Easylink is great news for Cork and the surrounding region. Easylink’s location in Cork will boost employment in the region while further adding to the reputation of Cork as a leading location for global services operations. On behalf of the Irish Government I offer continued support to Easylink as the company embeds its Irish operation.”
Commenting on the announcement, Ray O’Connor, Regional Manager, IDA Ireland said: “The decision by EasyLink to expand a standalone EMEA Service Centre is welcome news for Clonakilty and the Southwest Region. Global Business Services is a key target sector for IDA Ireland and the company’s acquisition of Premiere’s messaging services means that the 25 jobs already in existence will remain with the addition of another 20 new jobs being created. I would like to offer the continued support of IDA Ireland, as EasyLink grows its Irish operations.”
