Minister Congratulates Mivan On Contract
Former Enterprise Minister Arlene Foster has congratulated Mivan on securing over £30 million worth of contracts in new markets over the past six months.
The Antrim-based firm operates within the construction and marine refurbishment sectors and employs over 300 people in NI and Britain.
The £30 million worth of business has come from a variety of sectors including cruise ships, heritage buildings, luxury residential and boutique hotels including The Bulgari Hotel & Residences, London.
Invest Northern Ireland has been working closely with the company, providing support part funded by the European Regional Development Fund, towards new product development, training and trade support.
Visiting the company, Arlene Foster said: "Mivan's success over the past six months has been considerable despite difficult conditions in the construction sector. Because of its strong export focus the company has built a solid reputation outside Northern Ireland and as a result is performing well across a number of market sectors.
"In addition to progressing the cruise ship and residential business, Mivan is continuing to seek additional business overseas and recently took part in Invest NI trade missions to Saudi and Libya."
Ivan McCabrey, Chief Executive of Mivan commented: "We have continued to proactively pursue new global market opportunities and as a result have secured £30 million of new business over the last six months.
"Our focus on innovation and new product development has helped to give us an advantage over the competition. Assistance from Invest NI has recently helped Mivan to create Mivan Modular - a panellised, steel and timber product which we are currently targeting at the commercial office sector in London."
