Election Canvassers Attacked In Derry
A team of canvassers has been attacked in Londonderry.
The group, which included a number of candidates from the People Before Profit Alliance Party, was in Nelson Drive in the Waterside area when they were approached by a group of men aged between 25-30.
One of the canvassers had to receive hospital treatment following the attack.
One of the candidates, Davy McAuley, explained that the group of men approached them shouting sectarian abuse and throwing stones.
He added: "We tried to move away from them, and one of our group turned around to confront them. He was punched in the face and, unfortunately, had to get three stitches in hospital."
Police said the incident was being treated as sectarian. They have appealed for information.

Shots Fired At House In Dungiven
A number of shots have been fired at a house in Dungiven A masked group approached a house on Wednesday in the Rannyglass area at around 9.10pm. The occupants of the house were left "badly shaken", however no-one was injured in the incident. Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

Hospital staff attacked by loyalist group
Staff at a Belfast hospital were forced to endure a tirade of verbal abuse and were physically assaulted during an weekend attack which is thought to be the work of loyalist paramilitaries. Police are to study security videos in order to ascertain the exact details of the incident, which occurred in the Royal Victoria Hospital on Saturday 21 July.

Portadown Pupils Attacked During School Trip In Manchester
A group of schoolchildren from Northern Ireland have been assaulted by a gang of youths during a school excursion to Manchester. Up to 10 teenage pupils from Portadown College were attacked and some had to receive hospital treatment. No-one was seriously injured in the incident.
