Dublin Development Showcases Firm's Paving
A high profile Dublin project which used an innovative paving product, has been highlighted.
The 02 Arena was partly paved with Plaza, a product said to be suited to the requirements of such a prestigious project after being launched by concrete products' manufacturer, Acheson & Glover.
"Plaza was developed to be a very versatile paving option, particularly suitable for schemes with a contemporary feel," said Stephen Acheson, Managing Director, Acheson & Glover.
"Its natural finish lends a quality feel to the finish of any scheme as a result of its ability to weather well and indeed improve with age.
"For commercial use it offers lots of exciting possibilities for approaches to buildings, children's play areas, courtyards and so on while for domestic use it’s ideal for patios, paths and driveways," he said.
Its latest use is at a major new shopping centre, just opened in Balbriggan, near Dublin which used 2,500 sq metres of Plaza paving in a contract worth £50,000 to Acheson & Glover.
Other projects to use Plaza paving include one of the largest residential developments in south Dublin in a contract potentially worth €750,000 in future sales to the Co Tyrone based company.
Work on the Honey Park homes at the site of the former Dun Laoghaire Golf Club is already underway and is expected to be spread over a 10-year period by major contractor Cosgrave Developments.
A number of schools in the Republic of Ireland have used Plaza paving for their playground and other outside areas.
These include Gallen Community School in Ferbane, Co Offaly and St Mary’s CBS School in Portlaoise, Co Laiose.
Acheson & Glover has also received the first order for its newest range of permeable Plaza X-Flow paving.
Able to satisfy the requirements of a permeable pavior at a new housing development in Ballyinderry near Lisburn, the £300,000 contract with contractor Carville Group will be spread over a four year period.
