Pfizer Outline Voluntary Redundancy Plans

A major pharmaceutical company has informed workers in Clondalkin that it is seeking voluntary redundancies. Pfizer are looking at up to 80 lay-offs at the Grange Castle plant, however details are yet to be finalised.

They also reported growth plans in some areas of the facility over the coming months, however job numbers are yet to be determined. Pfizer currently employs 1,200 people at Grange Castle.

Merger Of Pfizer And Allergan Collapses
The merger between Pfizer and Allergan in Ireland has collapsed. Sinn Féin spokesperson on Jobs and Enterprise Peadar Tóibín TD said, "this has exposed the Irish Government's risky strategy of attracting FDI through the promotion of tax avoidance strategies".

Pfizer To Create Around 130 Jobs In Ireland
Pfizer has announced it is to create approximately 130 jobs across three manufacturing sites in Ireland. The jobs will be created at Grange Castle in Dublin, Little Island and Ringaskiddy in Cork. A recruitment drive is already underway.

Labour Deputy Robert Dowds, has welcomed the €130 million investment announced by Pfizer today, in two of its sites in Grange Castle, Dublin and Ringaskiddly in Co. Cork. He said: "This news is a strong indication of confidence in the Irish economy by a prominent multinational and major employer.
