SuperValu Creates 400 Jobs
A leading Irish supermarket group is to create up to 400 new jobs.
SuperValu already has a workforce of 15,000.
As part of an investment programme worth over €25m, the supermarket chain will open two new stores and will extend and refurbish an additional 34 premises.
The new stores will be at Mountmellick, Co Laois and Manorhamilton, Co Leitrim.
Martin Kelleher, SuperValu's Managing Director said: “The trading environment in 2011 continues to be extremely difficult, but we are confident we can continue to adapt our offer in response to the budget conscious consumer.”

SuperValu To Create 200 Jobs
SuperValu, the independent supermarket network, is to create almost 200 jobs with the opening of two new stores this year. As part of a €20m investment programme new stores will be opened in Celbridge, Co Kildare, and Miltown Malbay. Thirty stores are also to be revamped as part of the programme.

Purepipe To Create Six New Jobs
Belfast-based Purepipe is investing £250,000 and creating six new jobs as part of plans to boost sales in Great Britain and the Republic of Ireland. Invest Northern Ireland has offered the company £45,000 towards its expansion which involves investing in new state-of-the-art specialised pipe manufacturing equipment needed to target new business.

Hundreds Of New Jobs Announced For Cork
Fine Gael TD for Cork North West, Áine Collins, has reflected on a positive week for Cork following announcements of hundreds of new jobs last week. She said: "Southwestern, whom I myself used to work for, are an Irish-owned outsourcing company, who have announced the creation of 260 jobs at their new office in Cork over coming two years.

Tyrone Firm Creates 183 New Jobs
Newell Stores Limited, a Tyrone based family-owned company, has announced the opening of its second supermarket located in the town centre of Coalisland. The new 25,000 sq ft supermarket will create 150 jobs and, as a direct result, will enhance the Dungannon store with a further 33 jobs through restructuring.
