Deloitte Announces Plans To Create 125 Jobs

Financial services company Deloitte has announced plans to create 125 jobs in Belfast over the next two years, Enterprise Minister Arlene Foster has announced.

The announcement means that the firm, which offers a range of audit, tax, consulting and corporate finance service to clients across the public and private sectors from offices in the UK, including Belfast and the Republic of Ireland, will increase the number of staff employed in the city to 275 by 2013.

One hundred of the new jobs will result from the establishment of a National Solution Centre, which will focus on software development, testing, analytics and application support, while 25 jobs will be created through the establishment of a complementary unit to research and develop best market practices around tax processes and administration.

The announcement comes on the back of the creation of 12 new jobs for the Belfast office at the end of last year, following the development of a new Pensions Team and a Business Intelligence Centre of Excellence.

Commenting on the announcement, Enterprise Minister Arlene Foster said that the announcement was a "clear endorsement of the skills and infrastructure which Northern Ireland has to offer investors".

She said: "The new jobs will generate in the region of £4 million annually in additional salaries into the local economy through the provision of high-quality jobs.

"These jobs will benefit not just experienced consultants, but also graduates who are looking for an opportunity to begin a career within a global organisation."
