UTV Announce Rise In Revenue
UTV Media plc has announced a rise in the group's revenue of 7% in 2010 to £120.2million.
The figure for the previous year was £112.1million.
Group operating profits rose by 8% last year with the company making a profit of £25.9million in 2010 compared to £24million the year before.
An increase of 17% was made in record pre-tax profits to £21.1million for 2010 compare to £18.1million in 2009.
The group's Chief Executive, John McCann, commented: "I am pleased that despite the difficult economic environment UTV achieved record pre tax profits, pre exceptional items, in 2010. With strong audiences across our platforms and significantly reduced debt we remain confident that we are well placed to meet market challenges and opportunities over the coming year."
The Group Commercial Director Jim Downey, added: "Obviously there's a lot of ifs about the economic situation. We've had a very solid start to 2011. We're seeing growth continuing into 2011, but the cutbacks of government are still have yet to have an effect on Northern Ireland so we're cautiously optimistic going forward."
UTV Media plc continue to deliver strong audiences in both the radio and television sectors with radio divisions materially outperforming their markets.

Reduced Bills For NI Water Customers
NI Water has announced its customers are to see an average reduction of almost 3% in their water and sewerage charges. It said the new charges will be reflected in bills from April. It is understood metered customers will see a decrease in their combined water and sewerage bills of approximately 1.
