Luxury Hotel Fit-Out Success For Mivan
NI specialist contractor Mivan Limited has secured a number of packages at the new, luxury Knightsbridge Hotel in London totalling over £8 million.
The Antrim-based company's scope includes the fit-out of the hotel public areas including the restaurant, lobby and ballroom areas.
In addition, Mivan will also be delivering the interiors for the luxury Spa which includes the swimming pool, sauna, treatment rooms, spa reception, beauty salon and fitness suite.
The project is underway and Mivan will complete its element of works by the autumn of 2011. The hotel will be open in time for the 2012 Olympic Games.
The project team includes construction managers Sir Robert McAlpine, architects Squire & Partners and quantity surveyors Gardiner & Theobald. Mivan will be working directly for client Prime Development.
Speaking about the contract award, Mivan's Chief Executive Ivan McCabrey commented: "Mivan is making great strides in the luxury hotel market. This sector forms an important part of our strategy and Mivan is proud to be associated with this project. We understand the benchmark of quality that is required and our interior fit-out capability and experience certainly steps up to the mark."
Mivan is currently working on a high-profile residential project in Knightsbridge and also at the Grosvenor House Apartments on Park Lane.

A leading Northern Ireland construction firm have secured a contract to fit out part of a £30 million set of luxury apartments in London. Antrim-based Mivan will help fit out 664 bathrooms, with a total value of £14.5 million, at the 199 Knightsbridge project in central London.

Mivan Completes Hat Trick Of Cruise Ships
Northern Ireland-based outfitting specialist Mivan continues its success in the cruise ship market having recently completed £6m of interiors work on the Grand Princess, Crystal Serenity and P&O Adonia. Work on the larger of the projects, the Grand Princess began in mid April at the Grand Bahamas Shipyard and was completed over a 24 day period.
