Sisk Lands Biggest Contract In Two years
This year has kicked off on a positive note for John Sisk & Son when the Irish construction company landed the biggest construction contract in the last two years – a joint bid for Crossrail's £550m tunnelling project.
Sisk said it is is now number 8 in the top 50 contractors in Great Britain for financial performance over the last 12 months (Jan – Dec 2010), for winning 20 deals worth £1,1101,7bn after Sisk had joined with Spanish construction giant Dragados to tender for Crossrail's largest contract to date.
The win means both companies are together ranking joint second in the top 50 contractors for December.
Its Belfast team has also been working on the new manufacturing building for the Bombardier CSeries aircraft this year and has completed projects for Belfast Harbour Commissioners, Armagh City Council, Seagate Technologies and Straben Development’s Adelaide House in the last three years.
Mark Bark, Business Development Executive for Sisk NI, said: "Sisk has continued to deliver a strong financial performance, despite a challenging year for the construction industry in the domestic market, by seeking new markets and by joining forces with key allies as and when appropriate."
