Coalisland set for jobs boost

Around 20 new jobs are to be created in Coalisland after a deal was signed between manufacturing firm McAvoy Group and the British Government.

The company, which manufacture timber-framed and steel framed portable and sectional buildings, will now supply the UK treasury’s buying agency with modular buildings to public authorities throughout Northern Ireland over the next five years.

The decision also means that these organisations can approach McAvoy Group directly without having to tender requirements publicly.

The company, which was formed in 1973, has four main divisions throughout the province.

McAvoy have also recently invested in a new factory and manufacturing equipment at its Coalisland headquarters. (MB)
