Galway Hotel Development Secures Jobs

There's good news after a modest jobs fillip for Co Galway with news that the recent re-branding of the former Marriott Courtyard Hotel in Galway to become the Pillo Hotel & Spa has secured the employment for all the 55 staff at the four star hotel

The hotel's development has given a major vote of confidence to the Galway tourist sector with Pillo Hotels being a new Irish hotel brand backed by leading private equity investor, Ion Equity.

Director of Operations for Pillo Hotels, Conal O'Neill said: "This is a wonderful hotel with great potential and we plan to develop its potential fully with an exciting new Irish hotel brand.

"We believe the hotel will play an ever more important role in Galway and will continue to add to its reputation as a corporate and leisure destination."

Ion Equity has substantial investments in a number of leading Irish businesses including Topaz Energy, SouthWestern and USIT.

The Galway Pillo Hotel marks the rollout of Pillo Hotels both in Ireland and the UK.

Speaking at the relaunch, Hotel Manager, Cian Landers said: "I am delighted for our customers, staff and suppliers that the hotels future is being re-established on a sound footing and I look forward to building on the strong reputation the hotel has for quality, service and value under its new branding as a Pillo Hotel."
