Young children played with “crude device”
British army technical experts have examined what has been described as a “crude device” found by children in north Belfast.
The device consisting of a firework with nails attached was found in the garden of a house at Roseleigh Street in the mainly nationalist Manor Street area on Thursday November 1.
It is believed six children aged between four and 12 discovered the device earlier at a nearby community centre and were playing with it before a parent raised the alarm and discarded it in the Roseleigh Street area.

Bomb Discovered Could Have Been Found By Children - PSNI
A bomb discovered on the outskirts of west Belfast could have been found by children and caused serious injury, police have said. Several homes and a nursery had to be evacuated after an "improvised explosive" was found in the Colin Road area in Poleglass on Tuesday afternoon. The object has been taken for forensic examination.

Man Arrested Following Drugs Seizure In Co Down
A 44-year-old man has been arrested following a drugs seizure in Millisle, Co Down. The drugs, worth an estimated street value of £18,000, were found following the search of a house in the Park Crescent area. A quantity of drugs-related paraphernalia was also discovered and a sum of cash.

Family Threatened Out Of Their Home
A family has been ordered out of their home in Newry after a group of people gathered at their house. It is understood the incident occurred in the Pound Street area of the city on Thursday night when the mother was home with her four children. The PSNI said the mother, who is a young foreign national, was threatened during the incident.
