Rural Land Registration Service Gets Boost
The Craigavon area of Co Armagh is to benefit from a 'one stop shop' to assist members of the public with rating, valuation, land registration and mapping services.
Land & Property Services (LPS) is developing the Craigavon Customer Information Centre, which will be based at Marlborough House, Craigavon.
When it opens, customers will be able to access a range of products and services provided by LPS, some of which were previously only available in Belfast and Ballymena.
The first step in this process will involve the transfer of the rating services from the West Street, Portadown office to join the LPS valuation service which is already based in Marlborough House. From 10 January, the Portadown office will close permanently and from 12 January, LPS customers will be able to access both rating and valuation services in the new Craigavon public office.
Land registration and mapping services will also be available at this location from summer 2011.
John Wilkinson, Chief Executive of LPS, said: "Providing an excellent service to our customers is a top priority for Land & Property Services.
"When the new centre is fully operational customers will be able to access services related to rating, land registration, valuation and mapping in one place rather than having to travel between buildings, or even to Belfast.
"I believe that the convenience of having our enhanced range of services on their doorstep will be of considerable benefit to our customers."
