Woman Dead After Cork Hotel 'Gas Leak'
A woman has died in a suspected gas leak in a Co Cork hotel late on Saturday night.
Gardaí said they are investigating all of the circumstances surrounding the discovery of the body at a Hotel in Kinsale, Co Cork at around 2pm on Sunday.
The woman's friends found the 30-year-old's body in an upstairs room at the hotel. She had been on a hen party with a group of more than 25 other women.
This morning, the woman was named as Miriam Reidy from Ballyhahill, Co Limerick. Her sister Patricia, who was sharing the room is said to be in a critical condition in Cork University Hospital.
Five other people who were in the hotel also attended the hospital after complaining of breathing difficulties but they were discharged last night after treatment.
Gardai evacuated the scene and a technical examination is ongoing. The Health and Safety Authority were notified of the incident.
A post mortem examination is to be carried out by the State Pathologist in this morning at Cork University Hospital.
Gardaí said they are calling on anyone with information to contact Bandon Garda Station 023 8852200, or the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111.
Meanwhile, the bodies of a male and a female, both aged in their 20s, have been discovered in a house at O'Malley Park.
Gardaí said they are investigating the circumstances surrounding the discovery of the two bodies, which occured at approximately 11.30am yesterday morning. Both individuals are believed to have been shot.
They have been named locally as Des Kelly who lived at the house and Breda Waters who was from the St Mary's park area of Limerick city.
According to reports this morning, Gardaí were called to the house at around noon and found the body of a woman in an upstairs bedroom.
The body of a man was found downstairs, close to the back door of the house.
Members of the Garda Technical Bureau are attending the scene and the State Pathologist has been notified.
Gardai are appealing to anyone who was in the vicinity of O'Malley Pk and noticed any suspicious activity between 1130pm on the 8th of January and 1130am on the 9th January to contact them.

Co Fermanagh Man Dies In Sligo Rally Crash
Two drivers have died in a crash in a County Sligo rally. Daire Maguire from County Fermanagh and Gene McDonald were killed when the car they were racing in hit a wall in Ballymote at around 3pm on Sunday, 16 July. The incident happened during the sixth stage of the Sligo Stages Rally. No other car was involved.
