Anglo Findings To Be Published
The Republic of Ireland investigation into the former Anglo Irish Bank Chairman, Sean Fitzpatrick, and its former Chief Executive, David Drumm, is to conclude today.
Mr Fitzpatrick and Drumm have been under investigation since 2008 after the former admitted to concealing €87 million in loans from the bank as part of a circular transactions controversy, which led to the eventual nationalisation of Anglo on 21 January 2009.
The investigation for the Chartered Accountants Regulatory Board is also looking into the roles of Anglo Irish Bank's former Finance Director, Willie McAteer, and Irish Life & Permanent's former Finance Director, Peter Fitzpatrick.
Today's report is expected to establish whether there is enough evidence against the men to spark a disciplinary committee hearing.
Former Comptroller and Auditor General John Purcell is heading up the investigation after being appointed special investigator by the Chartered Accountants Regulatory Board in 2009.

Murder Investigation Launched Into Disappearance Of Damien Heagney
The PSNI's Major Investigation Team have launched a murder investigation into the disappearance of 47-year-old Damien Heagney from Cookstown. Mr Heagney was reported missing on Tuesday 19 July and police have said that they are "keeping an open mind" they now believe that he has been murdered.

Sean Quinn Granted Release Over Christmas
Former billionaire businessman Sean Quinn is to be released from Mountjoy Prison for three days over the Christmas period. He was put behind bars for contempt of court over hiding assets from the former Anglo Irish Bank. Quinn's lawyers confirmed the decision was made on Thursday afternoon.

The former boss of Anglo Irish Bank is to go on trial at the beginning of next year, having allegedly played a substantial role in the bank’s collapse. Sean FitzPatrick will face charges of lending the bank's money to a group of investors in order to mislead shareholders and falsely inflate the bank's share price.
