NHBC best builders score unique success
Northern Ireland has scored a unique success in the National House Building Council (NHBC) Pride in the Job campaign with all three of last year’s winners succeeding in retaining their title in 2001.
Releasing the list of the province’s best builders on Monday 12 November, NHBC has revealed that all three men have come top again in their respective categories for the second year in a row.
Paul Davidson - of Aubrey Davidson & Co - topped the ‘small’ category for his Springfields site on the Newry Road in Banbridge, while Kevin Carton of Moore Construction heads the ‘medium’ category for his work on the Castlegrange site in Strabane. Michael Patton of Patton Homes wins in the ‘large’ category for his site, Old Galgorm Manor, Ballymena.
“This has never happened before and it’s a great surprise to see all three regional winners return for a second year,” commented Tom Kirk, NHBC Regional Director. “Nevertheless, it is not unusual to see previous winners repeating their success. The desire to produce good quality work is motivating in itself and the Pride in the Job competition is an added incentive. To get this far out of 17,000 UK site managers, is a phenomenal achievement and a testament to the skill and dedication of the winners.” (CL)
