Glasgow’s IKEA ‘travels’ closer to Province

Seacat and local tour operator Travelbreak are offering people in Northern Ireland the opportunity to visit the UK’s newest and largest IKEA store near Glasgow for just £10.

Well known for its innovative and affordable Swedish designer furniture, IKEA recently opened its largest UK store at Braehead, just outside Glasgow.

Alan Ferguson, Marketing Manager of Seacat said: “With our fast ferry service from Belfast to Troon taking only two and a half hours and Troon being only 45 minutes from IKEA, this really is the quickest way for people in Northern Ireland to get to this fabulous shopping experience. The £10 offer includes a Seacat crossing and a coach transfer to/from IKEA and gives a full day at the store.”

Businesses have one month left to avoid VAT penalty
Northern Ireland businesses which should be registered for VAT, but aren’t, have just four weeks to do so to avoid having to pay a substantial financial penalty. Businesses which are VAT registered, and whose taxable turnover is more than £56,000, are being urged to register before the 30th September.

Northern Ireland Is UK's Happiest Region
Northern Ireland has been found to have the happiest population in the UK, according to a new report by the ONS. Using data from the Annual Population Survey from April 2012 to March 2013, the Office for National Statistics found that a third of people in Northern Ireland gave a nine out of ten rating for life satisfaction.

10% Rise In Number Of NI People Living With HIV
The number of people living with HIV in Northern has increased by 10%, according to new figures. 809 people were diagnosed with HIV last year compared to 783 in 2013. The 'HIV surveillance in Northern Ireland 2015' report published by the Public Health Agency (PHA) also shows 94 new cases of HIV were diagnosed in Northern Ireland in 2014.
