Juvenile charged with murder
A 15-year-old youth from north Down has been remanded in custody charged with murder.
The juvenile, who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared before a magistrate in North Down Magistrate’s Court sitting in Bangor.
He is accused of killing George McClune, 27, from Enfield Street Belfast who was stabbed during a disturbance in Conlig near Bangor on Sunday November 18. He was one of two men stabbed during a street dispute among a group of people in the Breezemount area of Conlig. Mr McClune was taken to hospital but died later from his injuries. The other man was treated and has since been discharged.
Meanwhile, a 28-year-old Lurgan man has been remanded in custody on arms and explosives charges. Donald Knox from Lurgantarry in the town is accused of being in possession of a rifle, two handguns, ammunition and a detonator. The items were recovered by police during a search on the Kilwilkee estate in Lurgan on Monday November 19.He was remanded in custody until 13 December. (AMcE)

David Jones, 36, of Lismore Avenue in Bangor appeared before Downpatrick Magistrates Court on Thursday charged with killing Pauline McConnell, 41, whose body was found in a ground floor flat at Lismore Avenue on the Whitehill estate in Bangor.

Nelson Watson, 59, from Clanmorris Street in the Tiger's Bay area of the city, is accused of the murder of 42-year-old Barbara Taggart, who is understood to have died after a fire in his flat, on Saturday night.

Robert Brown, of Gotha Street, appeared at Belfast Magistrates Court yesterday charged with stabbing 38-year-old Joanne Brown and Stephen Brown, 21. The attack happened at Hyndford Street off the Beersbridge Road.
