Partnership aims to bring intranet to local government
Antrim-based Consilium Technologies has announced the signing of a partnership agreement with a leading supplier of Intranet solutions Definitive Applications.
Under the agreement, Definitive has appointed Consilium as its reseller for the SORCE “Intranet-in-a-box” solution within the local government market.
According to Consilium’s Business Development Director, Peter McHugh, the agreement further strengthens the company’s ability to support councils as they seek to deliver eGovernment to their employees.
“Our analysis of the IEG statements indicates that most councils are looking to deploy an Intranet to enable their employees to manage work, and communicate, electronically. The SORCE product has already shown its pedigree with other councils, and we expect significant interest in its ability to meet most councils’ requirements, out of the box.”
Due to its close match with most requirements, and hence without the need for extensive bespoke development work, Consilium say that SORCE has already proved popular with UK councils. This results in fast deployments and a lower entry price as the SORCE development environment allows for both customisation and flexibility when designing the intranet.
Recently Consilium has signed a number of solution partnerships as part of its strategy to provide UK councils with complete IT solutions for eGovernment.
Consilium Technologies is part of the group of companies formed by the Antrim-based software and IT company Task.
Earlier this year, Consilium completed a £1.5 million funding round led by 3i, the international venture capital company. (SP)
