Race Tragedy Shocker In Dublin
A Northern Ireland-based motorcyclist has died following a crash at the Killalane Road Races, near Skerries, in north County Dublin.
Victor Gilmore, 42, from Ballymoney was critically injured after he came off his bike at around 1.20pm on Sunday.
The Irish police said he was rushed to Beaumont Hospital in Dublin, but was then pronounced dead.
The victim was an experienced road racer having been in the Isle of Man TT race and competed and across Ireland, the UK and Europe.
In a statement, Loughshinny Motorcycle Supporters Club said Victor "will be dearly missed by his family, team and road racing family. His family request privacy at this sad time."
A trackside marshal was also injured in the crash but he was treated for minor injuries and has since been discharged from hospital.

Man Dies In Co Antrim Road Crash
A man has died in a collision in Co Antrim. The crash happened on the Tornagrough Road in Hannahstown just before 8am on Wednesday, 27 September. Police are working to establish the circumstances of the collision and identify all of the vehicles involved. The PSNI are appealing for witnesses to contact them.
