Recruitment agency celebrates first anniversary in Belfast
A recruitment agency based in College Square East, Belfast recently celebrated its first anniversary with a party for 50 of its top clients.
Pertemps Savage Recruitment is an associate company of Pertemps, a nation wide company with head quarters in the West Midlands, which supplies temporary and permanent staff at all levels for commerce and industry.
Manager Beth McMaw set up Pertemps Savage Recruitment, which now has five members of staff. Last month, the branch moved from The Gas Works to larger city centre premises at College Square East.
Beth, who has been in the recruitment industry for six years, said: "Starting the business was a real challenge as Pertemps was unknown in Northern Ireland so we had to start from scratch making cold calls and visiting companies.
"Operating from The Gas Works was also tough as it is tucked away and many businesses and job seekers didn't even know we existed. Despite this, after being in operation just ten months we won the contract to provide gem - the outsourced customer support specialists - with 200 temporary staff.
"The new offices are in a prime location in Belfast and since moving we have seen an increase in business. We look forward to continuing to capitalise on these new opportunities to develop and grow the firm.”
Pertemps group, based in Meriden in Warwickshire, was established in 1961 and has more than 190 branches trading from 88 towns and cities throughout the United Kingdom. It employs over 1,500 permanent personnel and payrolls in excess of 25,000 flexible workers per week.
Since the branch opened last year an average of 40 candidates have registered each week. (MB)
