Ballyholme Body 'Not Suspicious'

A crime is not suspected as police probe the shock discovery of a body on a Co Down beach.

The body - believed to be that of a woman in her mid to late 30s - was found on Ballyholme Beach.

A PSNI spokeswoman told 4NI "there are no suspicious circumstances" but wouldn't comment further on local reports that the tragic victim is the same individual as spotted last night falling into the sea at Bangor Pier.

However, it is thought the woman has been identified as someone the PSNI were seeking as a 'missing person'.

There are no further details at present.
