Local Liaison Officer appointed for plumbing licensing scheme
The Plumbing Industry Licensing Scheme (Scotland and Northern Ireland) has appointed a new Customer Liaison Officer, Bob Cowan, to deal with complaints made against licensed businesses or members of the plumbing trade organisation Scottish & Northern Ireland Plumbing Employers’ Federation (SNIPEF).
Mr Cowan has over 37 years experience in regulating the trading environment, which includes a wealth of experience in consulting with traders and consumers towards fair and just complaints resolution. As Head of Trading Standards in South Ayrshire Council, Bob developed many new and innovative approaches to regulatory enforcement that championed consultation as opposed to confrontation.
Mr Cowan commented: “I am looking forward to this new and exciting challenge which gives me a further opportunity to practise the skills and professionalism developed over the years within Trading Standards. Good trading practices based on customer care are the foundation on which quality businesses are built”.
Ian Wilson, Chairman of the Complaints Panel welcomed Mr Cowan’s appointment and added: “I have known Bob professionally for many years and his new appointment will allow him to continue in helping improve standards and promote fair trading for everyone. His appointment is a big boost to this new initiative in the plumbing industry.” (CL)
