Clare School Build Creates Construction Jobs
It has been confirmed that upgrading works at five County Clare schools have been approved by the Department of Education and Skills.
Ennis National School and St Joseph’s National School in Miltown Malbay are to benefit from heating system and disabled access works respectively, under the Department’s Contingency Approvals 2010.
Grant aid has also been approved for disabled toilets and staff toilets at Clonmoney National School, while funding has been allocated for fencing replacement works and fencing alterations to be undertaken at Barefield National School and St. Joseph's Secondary School in Tulla.
The Clare Fianna Fail Deputy and Defence Minister, Tony Killeen said the Government remained committed to delivering improvements in the quality of existing primary and post-primary school accommodation throughout Clare despite the current fiscal constraint.
He added: "In addition to this latest announcement, this year's Summer Works Scheme will benefit a total of 42 primary schools and 13 post-primary schools across County Clare. The investment will also create much-needed jobs in the local construction sector."
