Bleakley To Leave BBC

It has been confirmed that Christine Bleakley will be leaving The One Show to join her former Co-host Adrian Chiles on ITV.

A three-year deal has been agreed to present the breakfast slot with Chiles alongside other ITV prime time entertainment shows.

It is understood that Bleakley was "unable to make a decision" regarding her future. In response, the BBC withdrew their offer.

Due to changes to the show's format, Adrian Chiles left The One Show in April.

At the time he expressed his disappointment that the BBC decided to replace Chiles on the Friday slot with BBC Radio 2's Chris Evans.

Chiles is now hosting ITV's football coverage and is due to begin hosting a rebranded breakfast show, in place of GMTV.

Bleakley announced her move on Sunday after three years on The One Show commenting: "It is with regret that this experience is coming to an end.

"I have been torn between working with Adrian Chiles and remaining at the BBC. I fully understand the BBC had to move more swiftly than I could, and as a result they've managed to help make my mind up for me."

Peter Fincham, ITV Director of Television said: "It's great that she'll be reunited with Adrian Chiles and their unique and brilliant partnership will be at the heart of our new-look breakfast show from this autumn.

"Christine will also become a familiar face to ITV peak-time audiences. We can't wait to get started."
