Farrans Celebrates Latest Award Success

A Northern Ireland builder has proved to be 'streets ahead' of the competition.

Stormont Social Development Minister, Alex Attwood (pictured) has congratulated Farrans (Construction) Ltd, on their latest award for their work on the 'Belfast Streets Ahead' project.

The national Silver award, from the Considerate Constructors Scheme, is in recognition of the high standards of consideration towards: the general public; the environment; local stakeholders and the Farrans workforce during phase one of the project.

Minister Attwood said: "People shopping in Belfast and traders alike will greatly benefit when this work is complete. There is no doubt that it is an ambitious programme of works. This award recognises the skills, dedication, care and consideration of the Belfast Streets Ahead construction team.

"I congratulate Farrans on receiving this national award. This is the second consecutive year that they have received an award for their work on the project."

Speaking after the recent awards ceremony, John McReynolds, Farrans' Contracts Manager said: "The Belfast Streets Ahead project is a very challenging project and a tremendous effort is being made by everyone on the team to deliver it as considerately as possible, with particular attention being paid to the needs of businesses, shoppers, and visitors to the city centre.

"We are therefore delighted that our efforts have been recognised with this award and I would like to congratulate everyone involved."

Belfast Streets Ahead scheme, a £28m project is currently transforming 14 of the main streets in Belfast city centre.
