Man accused of injuring two boys and is remanded in custody

A 30-year-old man was charged with injuring two boys in a hit and run incident on January 3 in Belfast.

Patrick Joseph William Thomas Collins, of no fixed address, appeared before Belfast Magistrates Court on Monday, January 7, charged with 11 offences including dangerous driving and causing grievous bodily harm. He has been remanded in custody.

He also faced a number of other charges including stealing a car and failing to stop at the scene of the accident.

The 12-year-old spent three days in intensive care. He is still in hospital and is said to be in a stable condition.

The 10-year-old was released from hospital the day after the accident happened.

The defendant was remanded in custody to appear at Belfast’s Magistrates Court on January 14. (CD)

Three people remanded in custody following weekend trouble
Three people have been remanded in custody charged with riotous behaviour connected to disturbances in Co Antrim on Sunday. Jason Raymond Kirk, 31, of Alfred Street Place, Stuart Kevin Brown, 27, of Brooke Park, Ballymena, and a 17-year-old youth who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared before magistrates in Coleraine.

Man remanded over woman's murder
A 23-year-old man has been remanded in custody, charged with the murder of a woman in west Belfast at the weekend. Kristoph Emmanuel Aluya, originally from Nigeria, but now living in County Carlow, appeared at Belfast Magistrates Court earlier today charged in connection with the murder.

Second Person Charged Over Templepatrick Murder
A second man has appeared in court charged with the murder of Antrim father of four Geoffrey Kerr. The accused, 50-year-old Martin Thomas Fleming from Churchill Road, Larne, was remanded in custody until later this month. A detective, appearing before Larne Magistrates Court, said he believed he could connect the accused to the charge.
