B.I.C. Systems open ebusiness systems centre

B.I.C. Systems, a leading provider of IT solutions and skills throughout Ireland and the UK, has formally opened its eBusiness Systems Centre at Sydenham Business Park

in Belfast.

Marking a significant milestone in the ongoing growth and success of B.I.C. Systems in Ireland and the UK, the Centre employs 70 people.

The eBusiness Systems Centre offers Managed Services and eBusiness Development services and represents one of the fastest growing areas of business growth in B.I.C Systems over the past 18 months.

The eBusiness Systems Centre allows organisations to outsource key elements of their IT strategy implementation and management of their IT resources. This enables organisations to concentrate on the development of their core business and become more efficient when dealing with their customers. The Centre has already secured contracts worth over GBP£7.5 million in the UK with RMC (Readymix Concrete) UK plc and, Salisbury District Council and locally with the Northern Ireland Housing Executive.

Sir Reg Empey said: "B.I.C. Systems is an excellent example of the best that the Northern Ireland IT sector has to offer. This eBusiness Systems Centre represents an important addition to Northern Ireland's developing infrastructure of services and facilities that will assist our companies to maximise the potential of the eBusiness revolution.

"The fact that a locally founded company has become a major player in the UK and RoI markets is a significant achievement, particularly given the difficulties which the IT sector has faced in the past year. We must look to the future and the provision of leading edge technology is vital if Northern Ireland is to retain its hard won place as a globally competitive investment location."

B.I.C. Systems provides IT solutions and skills to the public and private sectors in Ireland and the UK.

Founded in 1984, B.I.C. Systems has offices in Belfast and Dublin, currently employing 200 people. (SP)
