Motorsport Star Guy Wilks Gets New Company Car

Škoda UK Motorsport super-star rally driver Guy Wilks has just received his new company car and what better for the international sports star than one of Škoda's sportiest models, the 200bhp Octavia vRS.

Guy, who currently lies second in the Intercontinental Rally Challenge after two second-place finishes on rallies in Brazil and Argentina, collected his stunning Octavia vRS from Škoda UK’s headquarters in Milton Keynes.

Guy's new bespoke-designed Octavia vRS is in stunning white, with black sills and black Zenith 18" alloy wheels. The figure-hugging sports seats will keep his six foot four inch frame comfortable, as Guy settles in behind the Octavia vRS' three-spoke leather-wrapped sports steering and aluminium-effect trim.

And with a summer of Škoda retailer appearances ahead, plus journeys to the gym and airports, Guy will be able to enjoy his Octavia vRS quite a lot over the coming months.

Guy is no stranger to the Škoda range. His father, Philip Wilks, owned two Škoda UKretailers – one on the outskirts of Durhamand the other in Darlington– dating back to the late 1970s. After running an outlet again in the late 1990s, the family business was eventually sold three years ago.

It's something of a home-coming for the double British Rally Champion to now be driving for Škoda UK Motorsport in one of rally sports top international championships. On the special stages, Guy drives a rally-prepared Škoda Fabia S2000 – but on the road, the 29-year old sideways specialist is more than happy to keep to the speed limit and be a role model in his Octavia vRS.

Guy Wilks said: "I've driven a lot of different Škodas over the years, so it's nice to drive the new generation of cars and experience first hand the phenomenal improvements that the brand has made.

"I'm working my way through the current range quite quickly. I started the year driving a Yeti and now I’ve got an Octavia. That's two cars in three months. I feel like the internal Škoda range tester, and, to be honest, I’m loving it!

"The Octavia vRS is a good looking car and great to drive. The sports package is really quite something, with amazing levels of standard equipment. It’s fantastic to have such performance and comfort in a road car."

Co-driven by Phil Pugh, Guy's next rally will be Round 4 of the IRC, the Rally Islas Canarias 'Trofeo El Corte Ingles' (28 April-1 May), in which he’ll drive his Škoda Fabia S2000.
