Staff Solutions Business Celebrates
An IT staffing solutions business is defying the economic downturn having been ranked 17th in The Sunday Times' league table of 2009's British private companies with the fastest-growing sales.
Bristol-based Redrock Consulting, is celebrating havinmg joined the Fast Track 100, which is published in The Sunday Times at the end of each year, has previously featured companies such as Innocent Smoothies, Dyson and The Carphone Warehouse.
Redrock, which was founded five years ago, secured its strong position in the league table by achieving annual sales growth of 131% over three years.
One of the founding members, Managing Director Dean Harte, commented: "It's fantastic to be recognised as one of the top British companies for sales growth.
"The Fast Track 100 is a prestigious league table that has previously featured some very high profile companies, so we're delighted to be a part of it.
"Of course the recruitment sector has been hit over the last year or so, but if you have a strong business and the drive to deliver and consistently offer value you can defy the current economic down turn," he said.
Redrock's clients include household names such as Orange, Motorola and Alcatel-Lucent.

NI unemployment figures increase
The number of people unemployed in Northern Ireland is on the increase according to the latest figures. Labour force statistics released on Wednesday revealed that some 46,000 people are unemployed, a rise of 3,000 on the this time last year.

300 Irish Companies Gone Bust Since New Year
The economic turmoil has hit Ireland's private sector hard as the number of companies going bust has gone up by 76% for the first half of this year. More than 300 companies have been wound up, a 76% increase on last year's figures with most of the failing companies being in the construction and engineering sector.

Some 500 Bord Na Móna workers are fearing for their jobs as news of extended closures to Offaly and Longford power stations emerged. It was confirmed today the two power stations in the midlands would be closed for prolonged periods during the next two years.

BMA concerned at rise in medical students' debts
Medical student debt is soaring, according to the British Medical Association's annual student finance survey. The latest figures have revealed that the level of debt for the average fifth year student is £19,248 – an increase of 16% from last year – and they may eventually end up owing as much as £30,000.
