Fastest Ferrari Ever Sells Out
The new Ferrari 599 GTO has sold out before the official roll-out begins.
This is the prancing horse's fastest ever road car, which was the reason for Ferrari reviving its most revered badge GTO. It’s the first time the GTO badge has been used since the 288 GTO almost a quarter century ago. The 599 has just been given its official unveil at a ceremony in Modena, Italy.
The V-12 sports car is to be produced in a limited edition of 599 units, and was unveiled at a symbolic place in the city of Modena – the Military Academy’s Ducal Palace. The grand gala, also involved the participation of Ferrari factory test drivers and military cadets in front of a crowd of 500 wealthy clients.
The car can accelerate from rest to 62mph in 3.4 seconds with the price tag rumoured to be around £285,000.
The 599 GTO’s next official appearance will be at the 2010 Beijing Auto Show, which kicks off in China next week.
If you were thinking of picking up a new 599 GTO, you’re sadly out of luck as all 599 examples have already been accounted for.

Ferrari is the first manufacturer to offer a 24-month factory warranty on pre-owned vehicles, and offers customers twice the peace of mind when investing in the Prancing Horse of their dreams.

Ferrari's 'Vettura Laboratorio'
Ferrari has presented a vettura laboratorio (experimental vehicle) at the 80th edition of the Geneva Motor Show based on the 599 GTB Fiorano equipped with an advanced new hybrid transmission. Hybrid technology is one of the solutions examined by Ferrari in its on-going research and development into making its production cars ever more efficient.
