Navan Assured Of Jobs' Boost
There is to be half as many staff again at an Irish-based insurance company.
Insurance group Generali PanEurope said it will create up to 30 jobs in Navan, and plans to boost the group's overall Irish workforce by up to 50% in the coming months.
The group, which currently employs 108 people, is building its new headquarters in Co Meath, and will also expand its operation in Dublin city centre.
Additional jobs will be created in the building project with construction on the project due to begin in August.
The group said today the building work is expected to be completed within 12 months.
The insurer will acquire a new business site from IDA Ireland in the Navan Business Park to accommodate Generali PanEurope's Headquarters and Generali International's Irish base.
The new jobs in Navan, where Generali PanEurope has been operating since 1999, will include actuaries, technical product specialists and other skilled roles.
Generali PanEurope said it will expand its European variable annuity business, which is based at Smithfield in Dublin. A number of senior roles will be created at the city centre operation.
"Generali PanEurope has grown rapidly in recent years and expects to expand further over the coming 18 months, increasing its workforce in Ireland by up to 50%," said Chief Executive Paul Gillett.
"Ireland remains a good location from which international financial services firms can expand into Europe and beyond."
