Nissan Sales And Exports Up

Nissan has announced its production, sales and export figures for February.

Global production in February was up considerably by 72.4% year-on-year to 270,366 units.

Production in Japan saw a significant increase of 121.3% year-on-year to 97,109 units due to increased output of the Fuga, Serena and other export models.

Production outside of Japan saw a notable increase of 53.4% year-on-year to 173,257 units.

In the US production saw a significant increase of 59.0% year-on-year to 41,382 units due to increased demand for all models led by Altima and Frontier.

In Mexico production was up considerably by 60.0% year-on-year to 37,086 units due to increased demand for Tiida.

In the UK production increased 37.1% year-on-year to 29,606 units due to increased demand for all models led by Qashqai.

In Spain production saw a considerable increase of 155.8% year-on-year to 7,456 units due to increased demand for all the models led by Navara.

In China production increased 23.4% year-on-year to 35,810 units marking an all-time record for the month of February.

Production in other regions was also remarkably up by 114.1% year-on-year to 21,917 units.

Global sales increased 21.7% to 294,289 units compared to the previous year.

Including mini-vehicles, Nissan sold 63,687 units in Japan, up 14.6% year-on-year.

In Japan vehicle registrations in February increased 17.8% year-on-year to 47,942 units due to increased demand for Fuga and models eligible for the preferential tax exemption like Serena, Note and X-Trail.

Domestic sales of mini-vehicles were up 5.7% from the previous year to 15,745 units due to increased demand for Roox.

Sales outside of Japan increased 23.9% year-on-year to 230,602 units.

Sales in the US increased 29.4% year-on-year to 70,189 units due to increased demand for Versa, Maxima and Sentra.

In Europe, sales increased 4.4% year-on-year to 35,502 units due to increased demand for Micra, Qashqai and Pixo.

China saw a record month in February with sales up 34.4% year-on-year to 58,323 units due to increased demand for Sylphy and Teana.

Sales in other regions increased 26.6% year-on-year to 47,591 units.

Nissan's exports in February saw a substantial increase of 199.1% year-on-year to 50,279 units.

Exports to North America saw a huge increase of 278.0% year-on-year to 23,870 units due to increased demand for Rogue, Infiniti G series, and Murano.

Exports to Europe was up considerably by 508.9% year-on-year to 4,195 units due to strong demand for X-Trail.
