Peugeot 308 HDi Returns Around 90mpg
Coinciding with the 2010 Geneva Motor Show, the Peugeot ECO CUP was designed to see if four different standard Peugeot HDi diesel models in the hands of everyday drivers could deliver fuel economy to match or beat the official government fuel economy figures.
The best return was a fraction shy of 90mpg and, what is more, this wasn’t in a tiny city car, hybrid or specially adapted vehicle.
It was in a standard production Peugeot 5-door 308 HDi 110 model, driven over 1000kms of French and Swiss roads in heavy wintery conditions. Even Peugeot’s new 7-seat 5008 MPV returned economy figures of nearly 85mpg.
Average fuel consumption achieved by the winning drivers:
1. Peugeot 308 HDi FAP 110 – 89.95 mpg
2. Peugeot 207 HDi 90 – 87.10 mpg
3. Peugeot 5008 HDi FAP 110 – 84.77 mpg
4. Peugeot 3008 HDi FAP 110 – 79.10 mpg
Jon Goodman, Managing Director of Peugeot UK, said: "This project has proven two things; that there are a lot of people out there interested in doing their bit for the planet by stretching fuel economy to the max; and that this can be achieved in standard Peugeot diesel cars, with our new 5008 7-seater MPV nearly cracking 85mpg and our 308 5-door family hatch pushing 90mpg.
"This is a great reminder that, in this dynamic and technology-obsessed industry, genuine environmentally friendly motoring is available for the masses right now."

Peugeot Increases Market Share
Peugeot’s strong start to 2010 continues with sales up 22.3% in March and 31.5% year-to-date, in a market up 27.3%. Peugeot’s fuel efficient and environmentally friendly range of vehicles has been a hit with the UK consumers in March.

Peugeot 207 New 6-Speed Manual Gearbox
The Peugeot 207 hatchback and SW now have extra “six appeal” with the introduction of a new 6-Speed manual gearbox and a new Euro 5 HDi diesel engine. The 207 Sport HDi 110 hatchback and SW Sport and Outdoor HDi 110 models are now replaced by new versions fitted with a new 6-speed manual gearbox and a more powerful HDi 112 bhp diesel engine.

Peugeot Sales Increase By 21.6%
April has seen another strong performance from Peugeot in the run up to it 200th anniversary in May. As the UK market reported an 11.5% increase in April, Peugeot benefited from strong sales of its HDi diesel models, up 53.4%, to record an overall sales increase of 21.6%.
