Northern Ireland’s waste to be tackled at BIFM conference
This year’s annual BIFM Facilities Management Conference at W5 in the Odyssey Arena, Belfast, on March 22, is to discuss ways to reduce the huge amount of waste Northern Ireland produces annually.
Arena Network, the environmental arm of Business in the Community, have been working in the field of waste management now for six years, and Director George Dawson estimates that just 70 businesses working to minimise their waste would be able to save enough money to build another Odyssey Arena in the space of one year. This means that on average these companies could save up to 6 per cent of their turnover in one year with the proper implementation of a waste management strategy.
The challenge for local businesses is to recognise this massive bottom line opportunity and act upon it.
Delegates at the conference will not only be able to learn about how to reduce costs relating to waste management, but also the benefits of e-procurement and improving the overall management of your property and services.
Details on the conference can be obtained from Wilton Farrelly on Tel: +44 (0) 2890 736950.
The event is aimed at business professionals who have an involvement in facilities, property, estate management, Private Finance Initiative, Public Private Partnerships and services procurement.
