Kids' Seat Offer From Mercedes-Benz

Mercedes-Benz is introducing a drive to increase the safety of young passengers travelling in its cars with an exclusive voucher scheme to significantly lower the cost of buying child safety seats.

The new initiative sees motorists enjoy a maximum saving of £250 on Mercedes-Benz child seats as their child grows.

All the manufacturer’s child seats exceed current regulations and safety standards and core to their safety benefits is Mercedes-Benz’s pioneering Automatic Child Seat Recognition (AKSE).

Another safety first for the manufacturer, AKSE features a transponder in the child seat to automatically turn the passenger airbag off when it is recognised as being in the front of a Mercedes-Benz and turns it back on when the seat is removed.

This is unique to Mercedes-Benz and is not available on any other brand of child seat in the market.

The scheme starts with the BABY-SAFE child seat, which is suitable for ages up to approximately 15 months and for weights up to 13kg.

At purchase, customers receive a voucher for £200 towards the next seat in the range – the DUO plus child seat.

When the voucher is redeemed, the price of the advanced DUO plus child seat is lowered from £449 to £249.

Offering optimum protection in side-collisions and complete with ISOFIX mountings, the seat fits children aged approximately between eight months to four years and weighing from 9-18kg.

As with the BABY-SAFE child seat, customers of the DUO plus child seat are presented with a voucher to use against the next seat in the range.

The KID child seat sees children through to the age where they are safe and legal to use of a normal adult seatbelt and a car’s standard seating.

The £50 voucher lowers the cost of the KID child seat to £199. It is for children aged approximately 3-12 and weighing 13-36kg. Available as a raised seat section only and with side wings to protect the head and body, the KID child seat benefits from the same highly-developed features found in the other seats in the official Mercedes-Benz range.

Angela Shepherd, Customer Services Director Mercedes-Benz UK, said: "Mercedes-Benz is well-known for its commitment to safety, and occupant protection ranks high on our list of priorities. Our children are the most precious load we carry in our cars so it’s imperative that we do whatever possible to ensure their safety.

"But children grow up quickly, so it’s important to ensure that they’re safe whatever their size.

"The introduction of this voucher scheme means we are making our child seats considerably more affordable and are providing our customers with the reassurance that as their children grow, so does their safety."
