Postal workers in Derry receive death threats
Death threats from a previously unheard of loyalist paramilitary group have again disrupted some postal services in Derry city.
The threat came in the form of a letter signed by 'Waterside Young Loyalists' warning 11 Royal Mail workers not to enter the predominantly Protestant Waterside area of the city.
Six Catholic and five Protestant members of staff were named in the letter, which was received two weeks ago but only came to light on Friday February 15.
A spokesman for Royal Mail said it has received assurances that the letter was a hoax. However he added some of their workers were concerned at the threat and that some of their services would be disrupted on Friday afternoon.
Meanwhile the police say they have never heard of the group who allegedly signed the threat.
In the absence of any further information, a police spokesperson said, they believed the letter was most likely a hoax.

Gay men find 'death threat' letter on doorstep
Two gay men living in the Waterside area of Londonderry have received death threats, the BBC has reported today. The men found a letter on their doorstep, signed by the UDA, ordering the pair to leave the area within the next two weeks. A similar threat had also been graffitied on the wall of the men's residence.

Exiled man returns to Province
A man who was forced to leave Northern Ireland by the IRA has reportedly returned home. Joseph McCloskey, 30, fled Londonderry in April 2001 after receiving death threats from the IRA following an incident in which he and his uncle, Danny McBrearty, fired shots at a gang armed with guns who where trying to break into his house.

Two Men Arrested Over Alleged Death Threats To Darren Kelly
Two men have been arrested over alleged death threats sent to Oldham manager Darren Kelly from Northern Ireland. Greater Manchester Police arrested a 27-year-old man and 42-year-old man on suspicion of making threats to kill. They are being detained by the police for questioning.

INLA issue death threats to Protestant workers in M&S store
A Marks & Spencer distribution centre has received a call from republican paramilitaries threatening its Protestant staff. The Hyde Park centre at Mallusk in Newtownabbey received the threat reportedly from the Irish National Liberation Army (INLA) in a recorded telephone message on Monday January 14.
