Citroën Vans Get SmartNav

Citroën has said it will use technology to boost efficiency and put it further ahead of its LCV competitors.

From this month every Berlingo, Dispatch and Relay panel van comes fitted with the unique Citroën Trafficmaster Smartnav/Trackstar stolen vehicle tracking package.

Charles Peugeot, head of commercial vehicles and business sector sales, said: "Citroën remains committed to providing its customers with the technology to optimise vehicle efficiency and safety.

"The company’s new 2010 initiative - to fit all Berlingo, Dispatch and Relay panel vans with Trafficmaster Smartnav - will empower even more operators with the means to cut costs, minimise emissions and reduce driver stress.

"No other light commercial vehicle manufacturer has shown such a clear and unequivocal commitment to these crucial factors."

The standard fitment of Trafficmaster Smartnav to all Berlingo, Dispatch and Relay panel vans also provides the opportunity for Citroën’s LCV customers to optionally specify Fleet Director at a recently introduced, subsidised rate of just £19.99 + VAT per month.

Fleet Director, a real-time fleet management programme, utilises the Smartnav telematics platform to provide a key resource for fleet managers to better meet Duty of Care responsibilities.

In addition, Fleet Director enables head offices to have improved communications with, and exact location details for, all drivers - and to send routes or jobs directly to vehicles.

Mr Peugeot added: "In conjunction with our standard Trafficmaster Smartnav system, Fleet Director not only enables Citroën’s LCV customers to improve the safety of their LCV operations, but also to make further efficiency and environmental gains." Trafficmaster’s Fleet Director allows both vehicles and drivers to be benchmarked and compared to others in the business.

It can also 'geo-fence' vehicles, identifying, for instance, if a particular van strays outside a specific area or if employees make unauthorised or excessive use of vehicles during weekends or evenings.
