UU Canvass For Craigavon Ward
Leading Ulster Unionist figures have been canvassing in Waringstown ahead of next week's by-election on Craigavon Borough Council.
Only a few months in advance of an expected UK general election, the local Ulster Unionist candidate Jo-Anne Dobson was joined by Party Leader Sir Reg Empey, Euro MEP Jim Nicholson, other party members and supporters, (pictured).
Commenting on the visit Sir Reg said: "The welcome we received in Waringstown was tremendous and shows the support which Joanne has on the ground.
"She is part of a new generation of Ulster Unionists who are coming forward to build on the Party's long record of service and delivery at local level in Lurgan and Craigavon.
"Jo-Anne has already established a solid reputation as a campaigner in the Craigavon area and she will be a major asset to an already strong team of Ulster Unionist Councilors.
"She has my full support and I would encourage you all to rally round her at this time and vote for her on January 13th."
Meanwhile, Euro MEP Jim Nicholson also voiced his support of what he described as an exceptional candidate.
"She is young, she is vibrant and she will offer and new approach to politics in this area. I have no doubt that should she be elected she will do her utmost to serve the people who she represents."
