Police launch investigation into fatal M2 lorry crash
The police have begun an investigation to try to find the cause of a fatal motorway crash in Country Antrim.
Patrick Joseph Flynn, 50, from Mallow in County Cork in the Republic of Ireland, was killed and seven other people were injured in the accident on the M2 motorway near Templepatrick after a lorry went out of control.
The motorway was closed for several hours after the crash which happened shortly before 7pm on Wednesday February 20.
One man remains seriously ill in hospital, following the accident which involved a lorry and two cars.
The lorry, which was travelling towards Antrim on the motorway, jack-knifed and crossed the central reservation, landing in the path of oncoming traffic. Two cars travelling towards Belfast on the opposite carriageway were damaged. One was struck by the lorry and the other was hit by debris.
The fatally injured man died at the scene.
Four of those injured were treated at Antrim Area Hospital and then discharged.
Three others including a child were taken to the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast. (AMcE)

Lorry Overturns In Co Tyrone
A lorry has crashed and overturned in Co Tyrone. It is understood the cement lorry crashed into a graveyard at St Mark's church. Police have said the Crossowen Road, between Augher and Clogher, is closed in both directions. The driver of the vehicle has been taken to hospital for treatment. It is understood his injuries are not life-threatening.

Tanker explodes on motorway
A lorry tanker has exploded on the M2 motorway in Co Antrim this afternoon. Police have confirmed that the motorway is closed between Templepatrick and Antrim at the Rathbeg junction in both directions following the accident. One person is believed to have been injured after the lorry and trailer jacknifed.

Man dies in Antrim following RTA
A man has died following a road traffic accident in Co Antrim today. The incident happened on the Greystone Road in Antrim town. It is understood that the man's car crossed the central reservation of the M2 motorway and collided with a lorry travelling in the opposite direction. Emergency services were called out, however the man died at the scene.

The PSNI have renewed their appeal for witnesses following a fatal crash in Co Antrim. A car and a lorry were involved in the collision on the Roguery Road in Toomebridge at around 7am last Wednesday, 08 November. A man, who was a passenger in the car, was killed in the crash.
