Multi-million pound investment at Bangor M&S store

Work is currently underway on a £13.5 million expansion of the Marks & Spencer store in Bangor.

Around 80 new jobs will be created as a result of the expansion and when complete the store will employ more than 200 permanent staff.

The 17,300 sq ft store will almost treble in size as a result of the development, with the refurbished store featuring new childrenswear and menswear departments, together with a more comprehensive womenswear catalogue and a Beauty Shop.

The Food Hall footage will also increase and incorporate a bakery as well as an 80-seater Café Revive. Other initiatives will include additional till points, comfortable fitting rooms, ordering desks and additional car parking spaces for over 300 vehicles.

Work on the new store is to take place over the next three months and will be completed in May. Marks & Spencer currently operates seven stores throughout Northern Ireland.

Marks & Spencer To Close Bow Street Mall Store In Lisburn
Marks and Spencer is to close its store in Lisburn's Bow Street Mall. The 40 staff are expected to move to nearby stores and the firm is also opening a new outlet in Craigavon in the autumn. Simon Layton, Head of Region for M&S in Northern Ireland said it was a difficult decision.
