Glynwed Pipesystems pledge to invest further in Ireland

Birmingham-based company Glynwed Pipesystems have announced that they are to plough more investment into their operation in Ireland following a successful expansion programme.

The company hopes to build on its recent success in the province and is set to announce the completion of its contract with the Northern Ireland Water Services department.

Glynwed Pipesystems was awarded part supply of the contract to the Northern Ireland Water Services department in January 2001 for the supply of Viking Johnson Couplers and Adaptors throughout the year from March 2001 to March 2002.

The company, which manufactures high performance pipework systems, last year signalled their intention to further exploit the region's potential with the introduction of a dedicated sales and marketing team for the first time.

Since then the company has been able to win a series of lucrative contracts north and south of the border.

Glynwed Pipesystems has also secured orders with the Irish gas sector and was awarded part of the Bord Gais contract for Durafuse plastic and Wask metal pipe fittings.

Sales Manager Paul Cassidy said: "Our company is firmly established in the Irish market and supported by excellent dedicated distributors we are able to provide the level of service expected from a global brand leader."

"We are currently experiencing a growth in the Irish market, across all sectors and next year will see the addition of a dedicated specification salesman and the establishment of a permanent sales office. We hope this will enable us to fully exploit and support the opportunities that exists in our vibrant economy."
