Man Released Over Massereene Killings

Police have released a man held in connection with the Real IRA murders of two soliders.

The 39-year-old was arrested and questioned over the killings yesterday.

He was also quizzed over the attempted murder of five others at Massereene Barracks in March.

Sappers Patrick Azimkar and Mark Quinsey (pictured) were fatally wounded when Real IRA gun men opened fire outside the Antrim base.

Among those seriously wounded were two civilians, delivering pizzas to the soldiers.

A PSNI spokesperson said a report had been sent to the Public Prosecution Service, following yesterday's arrest in Bellaghy.

Charges have already been brought against several suspects, the most high-profile being known republican Colin Duffy.
