High-Flying Airline Re-Takes Top Award
For the eighteenth year in succession, the airline bmi has won the prestigious 'Best UK Domestic Airline' award at the Northern Ireland Travel and Tourism Awards.
The top tourism accolades - organised by Northern Ireland Travel News - are hotly contested, being judged by sector peers and customers, and even one win is considered a significant achievement.
Gaining 18 consecutive awards, however, puts bmi firmly in a class of its own and, according to Brian Ogle, Editor of the Northern Ireland Travel News, demonstrates outstanding performance.
Pictured is Brenda Morgan, bmi Sales Manager for Northern Ireland, who is naturally delighted at this latest accolade.
She said: "Winning the Best UK Domestic Airline award in 2009 is every bit as exciting as it was winning our very first back in 1991 when the Awards were launched, not least because it recognises both our consistency and our long term commitment to this region.
"Over the years we have never rested on our laurels, but have actively sought to tailor, refine and improve our services, combining flexibility and value for money with the reliability and service which are synonymous with bmi.
"Today the range of options available from bmi is unsurpassed - whether on our busy services from Belfast City Airport to London Heathrow or on the wider range of European and long haul destinations from Heathrow, making connections around the globe," she enthused.
Obviously delighted with the continued recognition, she said: "It is particularly fitting that the extra sparkle we bring to our service has been recognised as we, and our passengers, celebrate 25 years of our service between Belfast and London Heathrow."
