Police search river for missing Portadown man
Portadown police have appealed for information in the search for a Portadown man who went missing on Saturday.
Search co-ordinator Inspector David Hutchinson said he was "very concerned" for the safety of the missing man Ronald McBroom.
The 65-year-old man was last seen on King Street in the town on Saturday afternoon. Police are currently studying videotape from a variety of CCTV cameras that were being operated by businesses in the area to see if they can track Mr McBroom's movements.
Search units have also stepped up their search for the man and are now concentrating their efforts along a five-kilometre section of riverbank from Portadown's Bann Bridge to the M1 motorway bridge. The river was swept on Monday by lifeboats from Ardboe and Kinnego without yielding any results.
Mr McBroom is five-foot-eleven-inches tall, thinly built with grey hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing moleskin trousers, a T-shirt with a diamond design, a navy jumper with an Argyle pattern and brown shoes.
Portadown police can be contacted on 028 3833 2424.
