Road Deaths Rise
A grim milestone was reached at the weekend with news that a 23-year-old man had died in hospital from injuries he suffered in a Co Down car crash, earlier this month.
The death, on Sunday morning, brought the road toll to 90 this year.
The victim was fatally injured on Friday 18 September in an accident at Ballycrochan Road in Bangor
Earlier this weekend, a 36-year-old man died following a crash in Co Tyrone.
The victim was fatally hurt in an accident that happened on the Tummery Road close to Dromore on Saturday afternoon.
It is understood the motorcycle the man was riding was in collision with a car.
In the separate fatal road accident, a woman in her 30s died after she was hit by a car on the Dromore Road in Omagh. That incident was 11.15pm on Friday.
A female passenger who was travelling in the car was also treated in hospital but her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening
