New CITB website identifies future skills needs

A new online directory of trends in the construction industry has been launched to help companies keep up-to-date with the changes affecting the skills needs of the industry.

The Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) site – found at www.citb.co.uk/futureskills - takes an in-depth look at the current trends in government legislation, environmental issues, the construction process and technological innovation. The site will also be interactive thanks to a comment function which encourages visitors to contribute items for inclusion. Such feedback will be incorporated into the site to provide realistic information of trends within the industry.

CITB's Research Analyst Lee Bryer said: "As a forward-thinking organisation, we must ensure training programmes and qualifications meet the future needs of the sector. The site provides a window on these changes in the industry, and we are confident it will become a valuable resource." (CL)
